Jacqueline Oakman

Jacque is a Native to the Yuba-Sutter Community, she has been dancing non-stop from the age of 6. She is currently 51 years of age and has been teaching Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical for over 30 years, she offers dancers an opportunity to expand their knowledge of technique and inspires them to express themselves through dance. Jacque is the owner of Jacque’s Dance Expressions and has received many awards and acknowledgements for her choreography throughout Northern California.

Jacque’s Dance Expressions opened March 9th, 1998 with a dream, one dance room and a few eager students. J.D.E has since grown into a fabulous, state of the art, three-room>

dance studio with over 6,000 square feet. J.D.E currently has instructors teaching Ballet, Contemporary, Yoga, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Hip Hop lessons. J.D.E. is home to Team JDE, raising funds for a team of dancers to travel and further their education in the art of dance.

Jacque has been involved in many community events throughout Yuba-Sutter such as WWWOB, Red Ribbon Week, Bokai Festival, and Dance With Our Stars.

I witness children go through the transition of failure to success on a daily basis. It is both encouraging and fulfilling to see the amazement on their faces when they’ve finally got ‘it’. For me, there is no greater reward than to see confidence build in young dancers as they experience the joy of dance.

I am proud to own a dance studio where the teachers and students love and respect the art of dance.
