Ballet Dress Code

Girls 3 to 8 years

May wear a black or pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers with elastic across the instep. Please avoid the satin slippers which look similar but do not have the elastic as these come off the child’s foot while dancing. Thin ballet skirts are acceptable if they do not create a distraction. Long/full tutu’s and/or recital costumes are not acceptable in the classroom.

Girls 9 years of age and up

Required to wear black leotards, pink tights, and pink slippers. Light chiffon skirts and leg warmers are acceptable. All hair must be drawn back securely into a tight bun with a hair net or bun cover which will not fall out during the class. If your child has short hair, the bangs and sides of the hair must be pulled back and secured.

Boys

Wear form-fitting black shirts, black shorts or jazz pants and black ballet slippers. Dancers with loose hair or inappropriate attire will be asked to leave the classroom.
